After skipping the January 2021 IW conference and hosting one virtual educational summit in March 2021, the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) returns to a live and in-person event at the Caribe Royale in Orlando, Florida January 16–19, 2022.
The health and safety of our members and conference attendees is our priority. Following recent trends in the event planning industry to minimize risk and maximize participant well-being, ASHI has decided to require proof of full COVID-19 vaccination OR a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test (no more than three days before the start of the conference) for all attendees.
Proof of vaccination can be presented as a physical vaccination card or a photo of your card with your name and the date(s) of vaccination from a reputable clinic or professional medical office. You’re considered fully vaccinated two weeks after you get your second dose of a messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccine, such as Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna, or two weeks after a single dose of the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
If you choose to show proof of negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test, a physical copy or photo is also required with your name and date of test from a reputable clinic or professional medical office. The date of the test must be no more than three days before the start of InspectionWorld 2022, which would be January 13, 2022.
For those requiring a test, many airports have rapid COVID-19 testing in their terminals. Covid-19 testing is available at Orlando International Airport, Monday-Friday from 7:30 am-5:00 pm and Saturday-Sunday from 7:30 am-7:00 pm. The AdventHealth clinic is located in the West Hall, opposite the security checkpoint for Gates 1-59, and offers both rapid RT-PCR testing and rapid-result antigen testing. The rapid RT-PCR test is subject to availability.
The SARS-CoV-2 assay uses real-time reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) technology to rapidly (approximately 20 minutes) detect SARS-CoV-2 from nasal swabs. The rapid-result antigen tests detect proteins from the virus and are most accurate when performed within five to seven days of the onset of symptoms. This type of test includes a nasal swab and provides results in approximately 15 minutes.
Appointments are not required but may be made online.
In addition to the vaccination or test requirement, masks must be worn indoors during the conference, except while actively eating or drinking. We expect all of our attendees to consider the health and well-being of fellow attendees and adhere to this policy, practice good judgment, follow CDC guidelines, and comply with all other rules, regulations, and guidelines when traveling to InspectionWorld 2022.
Conference attendees should bring vaccine or negative test documentation with them to the conference, such as a printed or digital vaccine passport. No conference badges will be printed without such proof. We recognize that this may slow down our process and may mean longer wait times, but we also know that inconvenience is a small price to pay to get back to in-person events.
We appreciate your understanding. We will keep this webpage – and our community – updated in the coming weeks and months.
