Charmane Russell is the MD of R&A Strategic Communications, a company she founded in 1999. The agency offers strategic counsel to clients, and assists in implementation in reputation management; communications, including media relations and stakeholder engagement; reporting; human rights and print and digital creative.
Prior to forming her own agency Charmane was head of the Corporate Communications Department for Anglo American, before she moved to the then AngloGold Limited when that company listed as a separate entity. Charmane has a BA, and MBL. Charmane was part of the first graduating class of the Post Graduate Diploma in Integrated Reporting, run by the Albert Luthuli Centre for Corporate Responsibility and the University of Pretoria.
She is a long-standing IABC member, a former gold quill winner (both international and in South Africa) and has presented at IABC congresses in San Francisco and Vancouver.
